Who we are

Atlas Property Care Ltd paints and restores timber sash and case windows, and carries out painting and decorating, across Scotland, from premises in South Lanarkshire (ML9 1PU).

Information we collect

If you telephone, text, WhatsApp or email us, we keep the details you give so we can reply and, where you ask, price or arrange the work. That can include your name, phone number, email address, the property the work relates to, and what you tell us about the windows or the decorating.

Our website host may record technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, date and the pages requested. Those logs are used to run the site and to deal with faults or misuse.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run advertising or analytics cookies on this site.

How we use information

To answer calls, texts, WhatsApp messages and emails about sash and case windows or painting and decorating.
To prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, to carry out and invoice the work.
To keep records we need for accounts and for any later query about a job.
To keep the website available and secure.

We do not sell personal information.

Legal bases

We use enquiry details on the basis of steps towards a contract, and then the contract itself if work is booked. We use website logs and ordinary business records on the basis of legitimate interests: answering people who contact us, running the site, and keeping a record of work and accounts. Where a legal duty applies, such as tax records, we use that duty as the basis.

Who we share information with

We share information only where it is needed:

Our website host, so the site can be served and its logs kept.
Our email provider, so messages to atlaspropertycare@gmail.com can be received and answered.
Google, when the map on the home page or the contact page loads. The map is embedded from Google Maps. Google may receive your IP address and may set cookies. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Advisers or authorities where the law requires it, for example an accountant for invoices or a regulator with a lawful request.

Some of those providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, where that provider offers one.

How long we keep information

Enquiry emails and notes are kept while the conversation is active and, if work is booked, for as long as we need them for the job, any follow-up, and our accounts. Invoice and tax records are kept for the period required by UK tax law, normally six years from the end of the relevant tax year. Server logs are kept for a shorter period set by the host, long enough to investigate faults and misuse.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

Confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it.
Correct information that is wrong.
Delete information, or restrict how we use it, where the law allows.
Object to use based on legitimate interests.
Ask for information you provided, in a portable format, where the basis is contract and the processing is automated.

Send requests to atlaspropertycare@gmail.com. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. There is no fee for a normal request. We aim to reply within one month.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, telephone 0303 123 1113, website ico.org.uk. We would like the chance to put things right first.

Cookies and the map

This site does not set its own analytics or advertising cookies. The home page and the contact page include a Google Map. When that map loads, Google may set cookies on your device and process technical data as described in Google's policy. If you do not want that, you can use the phone number, WhatsApp or email address on this site instead of loading the map.

Children

This site is written for householders and property clients. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
